Joining & Membership
Do you offer day passes?
Yes, a single-session day pass costs just £7. We also offer 1, 2, 3 or 4 week passes if you’re visiting short-term.
Is there a joining fee?
No joining fee. When you join, you just pay for the first month upfront, then your monthly direct debit begins the following month.

Do I have to sign a contract?
No, all of our membership options are flexible rolling monthly memberships. All that is required to cancel is 4 weeks’ written notice via email or fill in our contact form.
What is the minimum age to join?
Members must be aged 14 or over. Under-18s require parental consent and supervision where appropriate. However, if you have 1-2-1 sessions with a Personal Trainer, then the minimum age is down to the individual trainers discretion.
Do I need to book fitness classes?
Most classes are first come, first served and don’t require booking.
Spin classes must be booked in advance (due to the limited number of bikes) by using the calendar on the mobile app, or ask reception.
Classes are free for members (subject to membership times) or £9 for non-members.
Can I freeze my membership?
Yes, you can freeze your membership for 1, 2 or 3 months depending on your circumstance. Just ask at reception or fill in the contact form to send your request.
How do I cancel my membership?
We require 4 weeks’ written notice to cancel your membership. You can do so via email or by filling in our contact form.
Gym access & peak times
What are your opening hours?
Monday to Friday 06:00 – 21:30, Saturday 07:00 – 18:00, Sunday 10:00 – 16:00
How busy does the gym get? / What are peak times?
Our busiest times on weekdays are generally first thing in the morning around 7-8am, as well as evenings from 6-7pm. Saturdays the busiest time will be mid-morning between 10am-12pm, and Sundays are pretty steady.
Facilities
What facilities do you have?
- Equipment: strength machines for each muscle group, power racks and smith machines, free weights, cardio machines, 20m Astro turf, functional area, pull up bars, stretch area
- Boxing area (including a ring and a range of punching bags)
- Spin studio
- Premium Lay Down Sunbed is available as an optional add-on service and is charged separately from memberships.
- Changing rooms including showers and hair dryers
- Lockers: these require a padlock, so you can either bring in your own or purchase one at reception for £5.99.
Practical logistics
Is there parking available?
Yes, we have designated parking for gym members. This does not guarantee a space as spaces are limited, and works on a first come first served basis. However, aside from our peak times, parking shouldn’t usually be a problem.
Where are you located?
Our address is Rock Villa Road, Tunbridge Wells, TN1 1HA. This is a convenient town centre location which is easily accessible by car or on foot.
New Members at Halo Gym
Is your gym suitable for beginners?
Yes, our gym is suitable for all levels of fitness and experience from beginner right up to elite athletes. We pride ourselves in a welcoming, non-judgemental community.
Do you offer gym inductions?
Yes, all new members receive a complimentary induction. We’ll show you how to use the equipment safely and can create a personalised training programme with progress tracking.
Do you offer help if I’ve never used a gym before?
Yes, you are welcome to have a full induction, or alternatively if you’d just prefer demo’s on specific equipment then we can do this with you any time – just ask a member of our friendly team at reception.
Is your gym suitable if I’m new or nervous about joining?
Yes, we have members from all walks of life all on their own personal journeys and this is a non-judgemental environment. Our friendly team will welcome you into our facility and help put any of your worries at ease.
How would I go about getting myself a personal trainer?
The best way is to head over to our personal trainers page and take a look at their individual profiles. All of our trainers are well qualified and have different areas of expertise. Once you’ve picked who you believe suits you best, contact them directly via their details on their profile. Alternatively you can contact us and we can put you in contact with your desired PT.
We also offer Small Group PT sessions for those looking for a more affordable, community-focused option while still receiving personalised coaching and support.
